An absolutely wonderful treat to be able to have access to authentic Nepalese dishes in this area. The owners heart and passion for the place shows as he's there to greet and even lend conversation. A beautifully ran family restaurant that also cares very much about the patron and their experience. A gem. Hope you get to appreciate the experience and the wonderful dishes as well. Tip and trick - if it's too spicy, ask for their yogurt. Have one to two spoons. The spicy panicked experience you're having will subside. So you can continue forward with your meal. The flavors are amazing, but remember to be honest with your preferences with spicy foods.

The food at Durbar was delicious and fresh! We could not believe that the restaurant was essentially empty on a weekend afternoon. We were unfamiliar with Nepalese food, and were surprised by the puffed rice served with our appetizer. Don’t be afraid to try new things! Momos will become your new favorite food! If dining in the restaurant, please note that the restrooms are in the basement! We were dining on the second floor, and had to go down two flights of stairs to them.

My husband and I drive 45 minutes to come here. One of our favorite spots of all time. I’ve come with other family too, it’s the go-to spot for whenever I’m in Portsmouth. The owners and staff are so nice and the food is amazing. Definitely try several of their dishes, they’re all worth it. If it was closer to our house we’d be going a lot more often :)

Had an absolutely amazing experience at this restaurant! Everyone was so friendly and the food was delicious!! We got our food very fast and they made sure we never ran out of water! I recommend the wild boar momos, and basically any of the entree dishes. The rice pudding was a great finish and they had tons of gluten free options.

This is the best “ethnic restaurant” in the United States. There is no other restaurant that serves a culture’s cuisine that makes such uniformly delicious food throughout its entire menu. And at the same time makes you feel as though you are actually in the country of origin while you are there. A picture perfect blend of New England (if you look outside) and Nepal. We drive two hours round trip in order to eat here and we would be willing to drive at least twice as long to eat here. And it would be it cheap at twice the price.

Delicious cultural experience. We had two different lamb dishes that were outstanding. They made a ginger and tamarind in seltzer water that was fantastic. Really great dinner.

We were 11 people for a family reunion and couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful experience. The owner is incredibly kind and warm, and was one of the bests hosts at any restaurant I have ever been to. There were a lot of us, and the space we were seated in was perfect- it felt like we had our own room. We tried many different dishes and each one was both beautiful and delicious. I can’t recommend Durbar Square enough. Our group was between 2.5 years old to 80 and everyone loved it.

First time visit from out of town. Presently surprised that though the place looks small there's multiple levels of seating. The staff were very courtesy and the food was just right on the spice. So Nepelise food isn't quite the spice Indian is, but has a more americaniz feel. No complaints, casual atmosphere.
